Celebrating Our New Fusion Landscape Professional Certification!

Rewilders, we’ve been talking about it for a while and we can finally make the announcement: we've achieved the Fusion Landscape Professional Certification through Landscape Ontario! This certification reflects our commitment to sustainable landscaping practices that benefit both our clients and the environment.

The Fusion Landscape Professional Certification focuses on innovative water management solutions for residential properties. The primary goal is to contain water on-site, preventing it from overwhelming stormwater systems. By managing downspouts and other water flow elements effectively, we can prevent issues like sewage overflow into rivers, which often leads to beach closures and other environmental hazards.

Why is Water Management Important?

When stormwater systems are overloaded, they can't handle the excess water, leading to potential contamination of natural water bodies. By keeping water on-site, we can help:

  • Replenish Groundwater Levels: Water retained on-site can seep into the ground, enhancing groundwater reserves.

  • Prevent Droughts: By ensuring water infiltrates into the soil, we help maintain moisture levels, reducing the risk of droughts.

  • Support Local Ecosystems: Proper water management helps sustain local flora and fauna by providing consistent moisture.

Benefits for Our Clients

With our new certification, clients within the primary zone (more information available on the Rain Ready website) can now qualify for Rain Ready Rebates through the City of Ottawa's Rain Ready program. This initiative provides financial incentives for homeowners to adopt sustainable water management practices, making it easier and more affordable to implement eco-friendly solutions.
